Meet the group at Hotel Byron in Lerici
Start of Trip: 2:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 3:45 p.m. Orientation Walk; 5:45 p.m. Welcome Reception; 7:15 p.m. Welcome Dinner.
Getting to the site: To reach the program site in Lerici on your own, you have two transportation options: Private Car: Book at www.airports-shuttle.com/pisa-transfers/taxi-from-pisa-airport-to-lerici.html. The fare is approximately €160 per vehicle for up to three passengers. The ride takes about 45 minutes. Public Transportation: Public transportation involves different steps, including the Pisamover to Pisa Centrale (Pisa's main train station), a (regional or high-speed) train to La Spezia, and a taxi to Lerici. Get a train schedule at the Ground Transportation booth/window in the Pisa Airport terminal and purchase tickets for both the Pisamover and the train. To take the train, a people mover (called the "Pisamover") shuttles back and forth from the airport to Pisa Centrale, the main train station in Pisa. Tickets for the Pisamover are €5. Tickets for the train from Pisa Centrale to La Spezia Centrale start at €8.40 (regional, 1.15 hours) or €12.40 (high-speed, 45 minutes). Be sure to validate your train ticket in the time stamp machines on the train track. When you arrive in La Spezia by train, take a taxi to the hotel in Lerici (fare is about €30). Please note that you are responsible for handling your luggage on and off trains. There are elevators to reach the elevated track at the shuttle stop and to change platforms at the train stations in both Pisa and La Spezia.
Getting to the site by train or bus: Trenitalia Regionale train service is available from Pisa Centrale to La Spezia, then a taxi to the hotel. Check trenitalia.com for timetables.
Your trip ends on: Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in Pisa at Hotel Bologna
End of Trip: 10:30 a.m. after breakfast; 11:00 a.m. hotel check-out.
