Free parking is available at the motel There is not any public transportation on or to the island. Participants will want a car to go to the beach or downtown during their free time. Other transportation is on foot, by pontoon boat or by school bus

All points north or south

You will be traveling either north or south on Rte. 13. Turn east at the Rte. 175 stoplight in Oak Hall, Virginia. You won't mistake the direction, as there is only one way to turn (except a store on the other side). Rte. 175 will bring you onto Chincoteague Island. Landmarks at the stoplight are T's Corner gas station & store, Sonic drive-through, Food Lion on the east and a couple of small stores on the west side of the road. If you accidentally turn into the Food Lion parking lot, simply head left and turn right onto Rte. 175 from the side of the parking lot.

Chincoteague Island

We enjoy all four seasons on the island! If your trip is in the spring or fall, expect cooler weather, especially in the mornings and evenings. Plan for layers that can be removed or added throughout the day. In the summer, expect it to be warm to hot, with some humidity.
