The Key Largo trip was educational, enlightening and fun. Our leaders had so much knowledge to share and they obviously loved what they were doing. The activities, particularly the Theater of the Sea, were absolutely awesome. A great trip to share with your grandchild!

We had a great time on the trip. Both grandchildren enjoyed all the activities and meals. The accommodations were good, transportation was excellent. Heather and Stephanie did a superb job leading the group. My understanding was that we would receive an email with group pictures that were taken by Heather and Stephanie. We have not received any yet. I hope we are still able to access them. Thank you, Gail Minerich.

Our grandsons thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling in the Keys! We all learned so much and stepped out of our comfort zones to experience a part of the world that is unfamiliar to us. Thank you!

Great experience for young people to be exposed to an entirely different part of the world, our oceans, sea shores, habitats and wild life.

Our Snorkeling in Key Largo experience was very informative and entertaining, adding to another successful trip we have had with Road Scholar. Learning about the reefs survival in rising ocean temperatures is important.

This was a wonderful experience! It was hotter than heck as the area was under a heat advisory, meaning it was even miserable to the locals with the heat index going up to 115F degrees. So for sure TAKE your hats; cool, loose clothing; we even used our umbrella's as parasols to protect from the sun and were glad we did! Also cooling bandanas or wraps that you keep wet and put around your neck with the ends trailing down over your chest will be very helpful, and wide mouth water bottles that you can put ice into. The Theater of the Sea outing is outdoors in the heat of the day with almost NO shade, so be forewarned! Our hotel was the Holiday Inn Key Largo which is just ok, it is older and in need of some updating. For example, our door only closed completely if you slammed it really hard. But the staff were extremely friendly. Our guides Alberto and Stephanie were fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful, and with great suggestions for what to do on our one free afternoon, which we ended up just spending at the hotel by the pool as it was our last full day and the kids were beat (the free afternoon had originally been mid-week but our itinerary had to be changed because the Turtle Hospital stopped booking large groups so our itinerary had to be changed.) You WON'T need to bring beach towels, I wasted a lot of packing space hauling ours down but the hotel supplies all the beach towels you need.

This was a great trip with our 2 grandsons, one of whom had never been snorkeling before. The leaders were great with the kids (and adults) and the practice snorkeling session in the pool was a big help. Lots of interesting visits to turtle hospital and other nature parks, The hotel was perfect because the 2 pools gave the kids plenty to do while the adults could relax. The leaders were wonderful in helping everyone in the ocean. Plenty of food choices for adults and kids. Five star experience!

My grandchildren (2) and I had a wonderful time on this trip. I will always remember the fun they had with the planned events and the enthusiasm of the leaders. My grandson said he "will remember this trip forever" and per my granddaughter "Best trip ever". Katherine Peyton

My granddaughter and I had an awesome time from pick up at MIA to drop off at MIA 5 days later. First and foremost, Heather, Alberto & Ali were amazing. They were all so supportive, helpful and genuinely seemed to have as much fun as the whole group did. We will remember this trip fondly for a long, long time.

My husband and I took 2 granddaughters (10 & 12) on this program. The girls loved it. We also really enjoyed everything. The leaders were great! There was a lot of driving back and forth; thought maybe the hotel location could have been closer to the activities.

If your grandchild aspires to be a marine biologist then this is the program for you. It was great learning about the variety of careers within this field via all the wonderful field trips we took. The snorkeling was a great adventure. We were given instruction and practice time in the pool before venturing forth. Our two leaders were phenomenal! They took great care of everyone and ensured that we all had a magnificent time. We all highly recommend this trip. Pat, Dave, and Graham

The "Snorkeling the Coral Reef in Key Largo With Your Grandchild" program was totally outstanding and I can't recommend it enough! My 10-yr-old grandson completely agrees and we especially appreciated our three terrific leaders. It was ALL so very special and has created memories I suspect we will treasure forever. Thank you!

Can’t find enough positive words to say about this fabulous program. The leaders were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their subject matter. Their presentations and the presentations of other guest lectures were very educational and presented in a easy to learn format. The field trips were superb and were coordinated with a smooth transition and timing. The hotel was outstanding and the food DELICIOUS. My grandson and I learned so much and most of all….memories were created for us that will last a lifetime. Thank you much, Margee and Colin

Outstanding program! Our leaders were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and respectful of all participants in the group. It was a wonderful experience to be in nature and learn new information about our oceans and the animals that inhabit these waters. Highly recommend this trip to anyone who has this interest regardless of experience.

We loved this adventure. My grandchildren, aged 11 and 14, were happy every minute. There were 11 children and 13 grandparents - a lovely group. The snorkeling was so beautiful and because we had seen their pictures and heard their names, the sea creatures were like friends. Our condo was attractive and very comfortable. The pool was huge and warm. There was a stop at a large grocery store the first evening so we could stock our temporary homes. The Group Leaders were smart, kind and fun. They took wonderful care of us. The outings were very well done. Meals were a treat - fun and kid-friendly while being tasty. I highly recommend this trip.

An incredible program that was enjoyed by both my grandson and me. Yes, it is hot in Florida in July but there are not many other good options considering school schedules. This was my first Road Scholar trip and I was impressed by its organization, sequencing of activities, quality of activities, and passion and care of our leaders. The activity level was exactly as described. We learned so much about fish, wildlife, the ocean, and their care. I am not much of a snorkeler but felt comfortable; my grandson was in his element! It certainly was an educational adventure for both age groups. I would give it 5-stars+.
