Your Road Scholar program cost includes the Road Scholar Travel Assistance Plan. The primary purpose of this plan is to provide 24-hour emergency assistance for medical and other emergencies. In addition, the plan provides emergency evacuation, baggage, and limited medical and sickness and insurance. The plan is designed to supplement your primary insurance coverage for accidents and illnesses requiring medical treatment. The policy operates on a reimbursement basis and if you have medical or other emergency expenses during the program you must be prepared to pay on-site and submit insurance claims as appropriate after your return. Please review the brochure you received in your Road Scholar enrollment confirmation notice for complete details of the plan's benefits, coverages, terms and conditions.
If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at The Madison Hotel Hamburg in Hamburg
Start of Trip: 3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 4:30 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.
Getting to the site: If you cannot make the group transfer the easiest option is to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. It takes about 45 minutes and would cost around 50 Euro. Alternatively you can take the S1 at the airport, leaving Hamburg airport in the direction of "Wedel", until the stop "Jungfernstieg" (11th stop). From there it is an about 900 yard walk to the hotel. The ticket will cost appr. 4 Euro per Person and this option will take about 45 minutes.

End of Trip: 10:00 a.m. after breakfast; 12:00 Noon hotel check-out.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
