Program includes independent time to explore the city and several meals on your own. Group Leaders will provide directions for self-directed excursions. Suggestions for free-time activities provided in preparatory materials. Due to advance reservation requirements and limited group capacity at some popular museums, occasional itinerary adjustments may be necessary. Libby Chandler lives in the southwest county of Devon in the United Kingdom, across the English Channel from the Normandy Beaches. At the age of 22, she moved to France to live in the Alps and polish her French for several years. Libby is an addicted traveler with a lust for learning, spending her time in France and across Europe. Leading groups since 1994, she works as a freelance group manager for educational organizations and in the Himalayan mountains during the winter.
Laura Legeay holds a master’s degree in international culture and art. She studied at the University of Oxford and created her first cultural project at age 19 in La Paz, Bolivia. After working a number of jobs — including as a champagne sommelier during the London Olympics — she joined “Etat d’Ame, Etat d’Art.” This association is dedicated to developing pathways to multilingual artistic expression in the city of Aix-en-Provence. Laura has learned eight languages and has a talent for writing, especially contemporary poetry.

Learn About Activity Levels
Walking up to 4 miles per day at a moderate pace of 2 mph over cobblestone streets, steep slopes & uneven terrain. Standing up to 2 hours per day. Program will require approximately 21 miles of walking over 8 days. Must be able to use stairs in order to navigate field trip sites. Due to unavoidable stairs, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated on this program. Must be physically capable of participating in all planned program activities.
