It aims to enhance the natural flavors of the unique terroir, where skilled cultivation has been practiced since the 16th century. The local volcanic stones protect the vines and contribute to the wine's distinctive characteristics. Materamenta strives to create a tasting experience that connects drinkers to the vineyards and the manual labor involved in the wine-making process. We will tour the vineyards, led by one of the winery staff learning about their culture and history. The wines from the Biscoitos region are cultivated in ground holes, shielded from sea winds by stone walls known as curraletas. This unique method results in pure, intense, mineral wines that carry a distinct sea flavor, crafted with care by winemaker Luís Vasco Cunha (We might meet him in the vineyards).
